About
This blog was made entirely with Claude Code, which I find remarkable. I’ve wanted to create a blog for a while, but learning a technology or simply dedicating time to it was complex because it’s not just about finding the right words, but also the time, technology choice, CI/CD to publish it, the taste for the UI and how to present it. I hope it serves you and inspires you to create that tool you’ve always wanted to create, now that AI-guided code generation is more accessible than ever.
Sin miedo al éxito. (I needed to keep the spanish version since I like the most)
Dante Bazaldua#
As of 2026, I’m a software engineer, entrepreneur, and educator based in Mexico City. Currently, I serve as co-founder and CTO at Spot2, a proptech startup building a B2B marketplace for commercial real estate in Latin America, where I lead technical architecture and AI initiatives.
I’m also open to hear startup ideas to help other founders build great products. Feel free to reach out to me at nte111da@gmail.com.
Background#
I hold a Master in Innovation Management (graduated with honors) and a degree in Computing and Telecommunications Technologies Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana. My journey has taken me from working at CERN in Geneva analyzing particle detector data, voice analysis (before Whisper existed), building fintech and anticorruption systems, developing genetic algorithms for microbiome analysis at UCSD, as well as applying artificial intelligence in education, and in my free time learning and teaching about software development, networks, cybersecurity, etc.
Teaching & Community#
Education is very important to me. I’ve contributed to Universidad Iberoamericana as:
- Teacher of Algorithms and Application Development (Spring 2024)
- Teacher Assistant in Cyber Security (2017 – Present)
- Teacher Assistant in Communication Systems Laboratory (2019 – Present)
- Contributor to Ibero’s AI Strategy (2025)
Cybersecurity Education & CTF Competitions#
In October 2018, I mentored a team of high school students in the NYU-Ibero CSAW (Cyber Security Awareness Week) competition, a worldwide ethical hacking competition. The team secured first place in Mexico City—a testament to the power of mentorship and the incredible potential of young minds when given proper guidance.
Technical Philosophy#
I consider myself a lifelong learner, so I’m always learning and exploring new technologies. I don’t believe a programming language defines you, it’s just an accident. What matters is understanding the problem and solving it with the best tool possible. Here are some tools I consider relevant.
It’s also important to be able to use a tool well and adjust our mental models, which is why I always seek SOTA (State of the Art) for each case.
- Languages: PHP, Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Java, Bash, Go, C.
- Frameworks: Laravel, Vue.js, React, Express.js, Flask, Nest.js, FastAPI.
- DevOps: CDK (AWS), Docker, Lambdas, CI/CD
- Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, DuckDB.
- AI: Langgraph, FastMCP, Zep.
I’m a strong advocate for Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Domain Driven Design/Development (DDD), static analysis, and architectural patterns that scale. Now more than ever it’s imperative to learn to express ideas and iterate on hypotheses to build solutions of value.
Beyond my occupations#
I have other interests:
- Entrepreneurship & Innovation
- Metacognition and mental models
- Photography & Trekking (mainly landscapes)
- Education
Open Source#
I’ve contributed to several open source projects, including Qiita, a big data tool for microbiome analysis, where I helped develop an automated cross-platform installer and optimized backend pipelines. This work contributed to the publication “QIIME 2: Reproducible, interactive, scalable and extensible microbiome data science”.
Other minor contributions to projects that enrich the Laravel ecosystem.
